How is device platform targeting of iPhones and similar mobile devices different from the mobile ad format?

If you choose to show ads on mobile devices with full Internet browsers, such as the iPhone and the T-Mobile G1, you get the benefits of mobile-specific targeting, while being able to use the full ad text length of a standard text ad. In addition, you don't need to have a mobile-specific website or landing page, as you do with standard mobile ads.

However, these ads will not show on traditional mobile phones or devices with WAP browsers. Device platform targeting also does not support carrier targeting or click-to-call ads. If you'd like any of these features, you can create mobile format ads.
