How does automatic bidding work?

Print

Automatic bidding is the simplest of the AdWords bidding options. You just set a daily budget, and the AdWords system actively seeks out the most clicks possible within that budget.

With automatic bidding, you don't need to specify individual bids for ad groups, keywords, or placements. The AdWords system automatically adjusts your maximum cost-per-click (CPC) bids on your behalf.

If you'd like to control the cost of individual clicks on your ad, you can set a maximum CPC bid limit. Learn more about this option.
