AdWords account users may invite users to share access to their accounts with others at three different levels:
Administrative (highest level of access)
Administrative Access - the highest level of account access.
- These users can view, edit, and manage any part of an account and its campaigns (with the exception of login information and language settings).
- They also receive notification emails.
- Only those with Administrative Access (or MCC Administrative Access) may invite and disable access for other users, view pending invitations, and change another user's level of access.
Please note that there must be one Administrative Access user on each account to receive critical email notifications, and that user can't change his or her own access level. The only way to change this access level is to invite another user to gain Administrative Access (or link to an MCC to do so), then get the new administrator or MCC account manager to change this access level.
MCC Administrative Access
- MCC account managers with Administrative Access may invite users to share the account at the Standard (Managed) Access and Reports (Managed) Access levels.
- They also can change the access levels of other users on accounts they manage, but they cannot change a user's account access level from Standard or Reports to Administrative unless that user previously had Administrative Access.
- MCC managers cannot revoke access invitations or terminate access to other users invited to share the account by a main (non-MCC) account administrator.
Standard (access to most account features)
Standard Access and Standard Access (Managed)
- Standard Access and Standard Access (Managed) users have almost the same capabilities as Administrative Access users, with one major exception: Standard Access users cannot invite others to share access, change user access levels, or disable access to the account.
- The Standard Access (Managed) label is for those who were invited to access the account by an MCC account manager (rather than by a regular account user with Administrative Access).
Reports (can view and run reports)
Reports Access and Reports Access (Managed)
- Reports Access users have the lowest level of access to an account; they can only view and run reports.
- Reports Access (Managed) users are those who were invited to access the account by an MCC account manager
- Reports Access (Managed) users can view and run reports, receive account notification emails, and unlink an account from the MCC.
These access levels are set on the Access page of the 'My Account' tab.
It's important to know that only the original account creator can edit his or her login information and language preferences from within the 'My Account' tab. No one else can edit these settings, regardless of their access levels.
Please also note that any users you invite to access your AdWords account will also have access to any AdSense account that shares the same login information.
