How do I edit, pause, delete, or resume a campaign?

Print

On the Campaigns tab of your account, you can edit a campaign's name and status (paused, enabled, and deleted). To change other settings, such as location targeting and bidding options, use the "Settings" tab.

Pause, delete, or resume a campaign

  1. Sign in to your AdWords account at http://adwords.google.com.
  2. Navigate to the Campaigns tab.
  3. Next to the campaign name, click the status icon and select the new status for that campaign (Enabled, Paused, or Deleted). Note that if you only have one campaign in your account, you may pause or enable it, but not delete it.

To change the status of multiple campaigns, select the checkboxes next to the campaigns you want to update. In the "Change status" drop-down menu above the campaign table, select the new status.

Shortcut: If you want to change the status of all of your active campaigns quickly, check the box next to the Campaign column header in the top row of the table. This will select all campaigns at once. Then, select the new status in the "Change status" drop-down.

Edit a campaign's name

  1. Navigate to the Campaigns tab.
  2. Click the pencil icon right next to the campaign's name and an edit box will appear.
  3. Enter a new name and then save the change.

To edit multiple campaigns at once, select the checkboxes next to those campaigns and click the "Edit" button above the campaign table. You'll be able to edit the campaigns' names, statuses, and budgets.

Also, the More actions drop-down offers several other options for your campaigns like "Copy & move" or "Export table" to download your ads to a file. Or, click the + New campaign button to create a new campaign.
